Default Navigation system for 2001 TT

I recently purchased a 2001 TT Quattro Nimbus Grey and Denim blue interior. I love the car. The built in navigation system does not work at all. I purchased a set of cds but get no reponse. The selector **** on the Navigation Function Selection switch is missing. I get no read outs on the small display screen to shpow that the system is recognized or on. Any suggestions? Thanks

Default It is an aftermarket unit

NAV was not offered as an option on the 2001 TT so I doubt you'd get useful answers here. In fact I don't think it was offered as an option in any Mk I model year.

He's right, navigation was not offered. So if you have it, someone put it in as an aftermarket addition

Nav was optional on the Canadian models and came packaged with the car phone kit. Mine has it, but the way it works is pretty lame. It works through the sound system and displays directions on the IP and radio displays. I use my Garmin nuvi instead!

Default Thanks. What years was it available in Canada on the Mk I?

I know it was definitely not offered on the USA Mk I in 2004 and before.

Thanks to all for the replies. It is in fact a Canadian car! The sytem may be old school but I wwould like to to restore it to operational. Any suggestions? This car did not come with a phone. Looking forward to your replies.

He's wrong. Nav was offered on early US TTs as a stand alone option.

I don't know when it was dropped but it was available on both coupes and roadsters 00-02. Should have controls in the little tray on the center console by the hand brake. Center display on cluster would show arrows when activated.

Default I stand corrected. I even looked at my old sales brochures before I replied

but missed it. Checked more carefully and saw it. I've never seen one in person.

Very rare. I'm a 10yr+ TT guy and have only seen 1. Expensive option.
