Need some dog buying advice. What do you have, size of house/yard, how much exercise time for dog?

Need some dog buying advice. What do you have, size of house/yard, how much exercise time for dog?
I live in Chicago and will have a medium size apartment. Will not be home until evening during the week. Will be able to have doggy day care or dog walker. Will generally have plenty of time on weekends.
I want something relatively low energy in the house, playful outside. I prefer easier to groom and medium size.
Current possibilities:
Shiba Inu
Bulldog
Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Basenji
Boxer
Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!

I don't know the first breed, but the others, except the (English?) Bulldog, are not good choices
considering your lifestyle. Bulldogs are pretty lethargic and don't require a lot of outdoors time, same with Basset Hounds (although these can be howlers). I have a Weimaraner and live in an apt., but he runs in the woods or on local trails for at least 1.5 hrs a day. I build my schedule around that - my hours at work are numerous but flexible.
Of your list, the Boxer is a particularly inadvisable breed, as they are high energy dogs and really should be excercised accordingly.

Actually, you need the fastest dog . . . .
but should be walked every day (as should all dogs- why don't you get a robot?)
I have the fastest dog in the county - she spends most of the day under the covers (couch potato extraordinaire . . . ).
