Default Neuspeed short shifter installed...some comments...

Make sure you got a pulley-puller. getting the oem part off w/o it will suck if you don't get one of these. I borrowed my friend's, but he says they only cost $14. anyway....This short shifter design is nothing like the one I got for my A4 (99.5). guess it's due to the cable vs. rod driven shifting. Unlike the A4 short shifter, it does not clean up any of the side-to side slop (not that there is alot in the TT) in the shifter since the shift arm (or anything else in the cabin) is not replaced....I wonder how the B&M short shifter preforms, since it appears to take the "replace the lever; ie shifter arm" approach...Shifts are now very (very) short strokes. I also noticed that in neutral, the shifter now points towards the back of the car now...which I like, since it is now easier to shift into 5th (reach). Effort in shifting is increased...I'll guess 10%....but it does give a more solid feel. I'm not sure if I just was paying attention more, but this shifter seems to cause more of a pronounced shift noise when changing gears. By noise I mean the the transmission sound you normally hear when shifting, but a little louder. It's not grinding or anything.....hmm. I'm probably just looking/hearing too hard It will take some time to get used to, but I do like the change

I've wondered about the demand for this product, as I think the throws are pretty short as it is.

Default Some of us are actually looking for a shorter throw than the neuspeed can offer.

I believe the neuspeed is in the 30% range. Looking for the 50% mark which UUC will have if it ever gets finished.

I disagree, I would much rather have the shift as short as the NSX, and the solid feel of that car
