Default NM TT Curious?
Gotta tell ya, I was in Santa Monica,CA this past week on business and passed a Porsche/Audi dealership on Santa Monica Blvd and spotted a NM TT in the showroom.
I own a Denim Blue TT which I picked up in mid-May here in CT. Since I don't see many TTs, I couldn't resist stopping.
A Silver TT was in the lot....sold, of course.
Went in to the showroom and was blown away by the $49,900 price. Wow! The car was positioned for collector's.
Any takers?

Default Re: Greedy Dealers vs. the Good Guys

I found out when I looked for a dealer (or 2) to give a deposit on a Roadster for next year in the US, Southern California specifically, that there are many dealers selling at Sticker and not a penny more. I obviously am going to do business with these dealers, future service included. Luckily, my closest dealer is in this classification, not willing to gouge a few TT buyers and ruin their sparkling reputations for overall service. However, in my search for a high deposit queue position for a Roadster, I found there were just as many dealers around here that have every intention to charge about 12-15% over list on every transaction. Many of these dealers have TT's in stock waiting for the buyer who just doesn't care about the over charge but wants his TT now. Well, that's allocation wasted those us that now must wait longer because of it!
Here's my thought. Let's reward the "Good Guy" "List Price Only" Charging dealers by listing them somewhere on this website. Throughout the US we know who they are. We may also want to have a "Greed" list for newbies to avoid and for owners to avoid servicing their TT's or other Audi's. Maybe we can create some pressure on the greedy, and more importantly get some good PR for the dealers that we appreciate, keeping them in the "Good Guy" category. I can classify about 6 dealers here in So. Cal right away for such a listing. It's our money!
Thoughts?

Mark, i paid 2500 over sticker price this past weekend when i bought my TT. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I called 7 Audi dealers on Friday, only one had a TT in stock that was for immediate sale. I bought it the next day. I was more than happy to do so, since i didn't want to be on a wait list for 6+ months, plus i wanted to have one before everybody else. By the way, my dealer was very willing to sell me a TT at the sticker price if i wanted to wait.

Default Two good points... Re: Greedy Dealers vs. the Good Guys

I agree that it would be great to list dealerships that are selling at MSRP, and dealers that are not. However, I do agree with "stedson" that some are willing to pay a premium to get theirs first- maybe we could call the other list, "Dealers charging premiums" instead of "Greedy".
Who has the authority to start such a list?

I have seen this also. I went by Scottsdale Audi the other day and asked a few questions to the sales staff. They just had 3 TT's come in off the truck (all sold of course) and were prepping them. As it turns out, one was black and should have been silver and apparently, the buyer decided not to take it. I'm sure from their comments they were going to sell it for a premium off the lot, but didn't seem like they would if the customer ordered one with they typical wait. In either case, they also said that they were taking $1000 deposits. In the meantime, I called Beaudry Audi (Tucson) and they said they were taking $500 deposits. Must be that the dealers in Scottsdale can get they higher amounts without arguement.

Default Here's a few for the list in Nor Cal.

I agree, we should start a list. In my searching, I've found the following in Nor cal.
Sonnen - 3000-4000 over
Negherbon - 3000 over
Carleson - MSRP
Diablo - MSRP or so
I'm usually a big supporter of supply and demand unless it's my money
gene

Default Sticker price

I have a TT on order through Scottsdale Audi and I am expecting to pay the sticker price. That is the amount listed on my deposit slip. If anyone knows otherwise please let me know. I don't want any unpleasant surprises.
