Noise Problem
I could use some advice on a noise problem with my 2001 TT 180hp. As I accelerate from a stop and then release the accelerator pedal prior to shifting from first to second, I hear a noise that almost sounds like a bearing noise. The dealer confirms that the noise is there but cannot diagnose it at this time. The service adviser drove another 2001 TT with me to check whether the noise would be present in a different car, and in fact we noticed the noise in the second car also, although not as prevalent as in mine. Has anyone experienced anything similar to this? By the way I only have 18K miles on the car.

If its when you let off the accelerator, and it sounds like a bearing
Thats what my fluttering sound, sounds like. Could be a DV. Schwings the man to talk to about DV's. Most all cars from what I gather have a slight flutter sound and is normal.

Re: do you hear the sound when the car is not moving but the clutch pedal is slightly depressed?
I experimented with the car not moving and the clutch partially depressed, and the noise was not there. It only occurs when the car is moving.
