Non OEM gear oil... anyone know much about the Mobil1 version?
Let me start by saying I know very little about gear oil, and that I just want to open a discussion. Since many of us swear by Mobil1 synthetic oil in our crankcases, and use the synthetic grease in our DV's, why not the tranny (and perhaps Haldex) too?
In my car, I had the original gear oil, and now a new OEM gear oil (better at first, but now diminished somewhat in hot weather.) Some here have the Redline and really like it, so I'm wondering if the Mobil1 gives us another option.
