Default Is this normal???

I have seen 1 notch over half on the temp gauge, but today it went over 2 notches over half after I came off the highway doing 'bout 80-90... The dealer told me to keep eye on it, and if it continues and over heat, then tow the car.
Please advise. Thanks.

Default Only when i'm doing a driving event, never in regular driving.

especially loping along at 80 on the freeway, where cooling should be optimum.

Default sometimes on a hot day after driving a lot...

mine will go 1-2 notches over when standing, but goes back to 1/2 once I start moving again.

Default I use to go to one tick over TDC while sitting in traffic at 90d'sF. This was------>

before going over to Mobil 1. Now, it doesn't even go beyond the center mark. But, I have not really tested it yet because we've had just one day of over 90 degree weather. But, I did drive it on a hot day, with traffic and no rise form TDC*.

So, I would say not normal for two ticks above......any unusual noises coming from engine area like water pump?

Default Re: Is this normal???

The only times I have ever seen a TT temperature guage not rest at straight up were:

1) When I took my 2000 TT across Hwy 17 from San Jose to Santa Cruz on a hot day in July, 2001 and did not shut off the A/C.

2) In the Winter of 2001 when my 2000 TT had a malfunciton of the temp sensor controlling the fan and ran too cool. A new temp sensor installed on warranty put the guage back at the straight up position when the TT was at operating temperature.

My 2002 TT has never varied from straight up on the guage.
