Default OFF TOPIC AND ON TOPIC

Regarding this whole off topic deal. I think it is a great idea, but here's how we can make a great idea even better. One big forum. At the bottom you can designate the topic as several things off topic, a4, s4, a6, wheels/tires, engine, etc... everything that there is currently a forum for...THEN in your preferences you can choose what you want to see. If you want to see only A4 96-01, then that is what you'll see, if you want only Off topic then that is what you'll see. This would prevent jumping back and forth between forums and actually allow the user a much greater flexibility in designating what he/she wishes to read about. WHAT DO YOU THINK? WOULD AW GO FOR IT???

There would only be clutter if you wanted it. You can choose to view only selected items. GOOD IDEA!

Default Why would I want to see off topic from other forums?

Add off topic, TT, A6, wheels, car cleaning, feedback and you've got a jumbled mess of crap - those might be my selected interests.

If you had any Audi car/community interests at all, how could you not check multiple topics/interests and then see them jumbled together?

NOT GOOD!!!

But, Reid, if you feel that strongly about it, submit it to Jason and Johannes in the feedback forum and see if it flys.

Default Ok, I can't figure it out, but most of you don't like this idea

It makes perfect sense to me. I could debate it to the worlds end. I bet if it was tried and people were willing to dedicate their posts accordingly it would really catch on. It seems to me that if their is an off topic option, which is in itself a seperate forum, why wouldn't we benefit from this system. Things like this (which I feel concern everyone) wouldn't HAVE to posted in EVERY forum (which BTW it was not). Additionally you wouldn't have to jump back and forth to see what you want, and keep up, And pictures or icons could even be used to easily designate between the posts you selected to view. It just seems like everyone is just saying NO for no good reason w/o giving it any thought. Well I was just trying to make things better. One HUGE benefit is I think it would actually cut down on clutter. If people really used the designations, it would be much easier to search for what you want. Right now, if I want to look for info on wheels for the A4, I have to keep up on about 4 different forums. Maybe another option which everyone might like more would be to keep the individual forums the way they are, but include designations for various topics within the forum. For example, in the A4 96-01 forum you could designate a post as off topic, suspension related, engine related, wheel/tire related, body/exterior related etc.. this would accomplish a lot of the same goals.
