OVERHEATING in my new 2001 TT (225hp coupe)
I just picked up my new tt coupe (225hp) on 10/4/00 and when i was coming home from work today i was stuck in some slow traffic and the temp gauge started to rise up past dead center to the first hash mark. Of course traffic would start moving and it would go back down.
Talked to my dealer..they said this sounds normal but i've never had this happen in any or my previous cars. Even my friends Saab 9-3 turbo which is heavily modified and runs tons of boost doesn't do this!
I checked the fuses to make sure the fan is working and after i got home while the car was idling in the driveway u could see the temp gauge move to the next hash mark from dead center, then the fans would kick on, and it would come back down...then it would repeat this after like two minutes. I wasn't even driving hard..the car only has 100 miles on it! And its only like 65 degrees!
any idea why this is happening?...faulty thermostat?
thanks in advance!
