power steering pump?

Default power steering pump?

i have completely lost my power steering. the p/s fluid is bubbling up when car is running(not boiling just bubbles) and steering is very tough. how difficult is it to replace power steering pump on tt quattro 1.8

You're going to need to replace the entire steering rack

Default Yeah...Probably a rack...>>

The pumps are pretty robust. Heck, I drove one 300 miles with no fluid in it and it was unharmed when I eventually fixed the problem. Can't think of any pump failures reported here, but I can recall plenty of rack failures...

The pumps are part of the rack, not sold separately...I just had mine go in May

$250 ish for just the pump as I recall..

I couldn't find the individual pump anywhere...that plus time constraints made the choice easier
