Default Problem Solved

well if you all remember i had a problem wit my car losing boost after a certain amt of driving time...at that time EUROCODE denied that it got anything to do with the REVO tuning......

well i got it fixed today by REVO distributer (which is located in San Luis Obispo CA) I was told that the people who actually wrote the codes for REVO are in SLO and they are the US REVO distributer.

so last week they downloaded the codes from my car and today while i was there asking about the installation the the UR pulley kit, the guy had the 'fix' for it and did a few other 'adjustment' since i told him that i have the ECS race valve now (he adjusted some 'limits' so the car would not 'adapt' to lower boost)<-- too tech-ky that i dun really understand)

all i know is that my car is running FINE now and even better with boost peaking out at 1.70+bar

so.....that kindda proves EUROCODE was TOTALLY WRONG saying that "my car's problem got NOTHING to do with the REVO program...." and saying "we have installed tons of these on the TT and you are the ONLY one with the problem"

well it appears that the people who WROTE the REVO program fixed it and it WAS the program and NOT 'mechanical' problem of the car...

....just to let you all know

LASTLY i would like to thanx Rick, Jeff and others at Arlan Motorsports/REVO for helping me out wit it :-) you all did a great job!!!!!

Default experiencing same problem

I am Revo'd and also using a race N75. Happened this past week. Everything was going fine until I wanted to pass a truck that pulled into my lane. All I got was boost up to only 10PSI. Felt worse than it was stock. When I shut off car and restarted, it was fine.

Default The reason why you were hitting limp mode was the ECS race valve not Revo and not EuroCode...(long)

"since i told him that i have the ECS race valve now (he adjusted some 'limits' so the car would not 'adapt' to lower boost"
The limits he was adjusting was lowering the boost level FYI.

The Race Valves are not recommended by GIAC, Neuspeed, APR or Revo to work with their after market software if you don't believe me contact them. Your Revo software was tuned with the factory N75 and performs best with the stock unit on the car.

What Mitchell from Revo did to your car in SLO is simply lower the boost so that when the ECS valve over shoots the boost you won't get a over boost code and thus no longer hit the limp mode condition you were experiencing during the time you have installed your ECS valve. This is in no way a Revo nor EuroCode Tuning issue it is the result of the modification that you did to the vehicle that now has surfaced and you were not informing us of at any point when you decided to contact us. In the end he reduced the performance of the chip so that when you valve forces the boost to spike your actual boost won't exceed your requested and that's the reality. If you feel that after purchasing the Revo software you go and add other modifications that cause for your vehicle to hit limp mode, throw fault codes or get a CEL and would expect us to diagnose the problem for free by pointing the finger towards the chip you are wrong.

The conversation you had with us was that recently you were starting to hit a limp mode and your car would not boost. We informed you that If we find the problem was due to the Revo software we would not charge you a single penny but if the problem was caused by a modification that you added or was something unrelated to the Revo's software that we would charge you diagnostic time. Believe in this case it was unrelated and we would have charged you for labor.

I wish you would have been more upfront and told us about the ECS mod and we could help diagnose the problem over the phone in less than one minute.

Do a search on this valve on vortex and Audi world and see how many people are having problems with them. With the Revo software the boost is adjustable and on the high boost 9 setting it is taking the car to it's limits which is what you are trying to do except you would not need that valve with Revo you would simply increase the boost in a way that would keep you from hitting load limits and throw fault codes that cause a limp condition.

Some aftermarket tuners that don't increase the performance of the chip by much might actually enjoy some boost spikes and not throw a CEL but Revo is definitely not one of them as they take advantage of every last bit of performance left in your vehicle thus no need for tweaks.

Below are some links to shine some light on this ECS valve for you and fellow AW's to review.

ECS Valve 9

Here is a real nice write up on the N75
N75 Functions and why not to use The Race valve

You are fortunate to have the Revo software as it's adjustable with chip tuners that don't offer adjustable software, you would constantly hit limp mode and would be forced to remove that ECS valve.

Default clarify (its seems like EUROCODE dun even fully understand the issue)

even up till today they still seems to be confused about the issue.....

to clarify this once again

THE PROBLEM WITH THE CAR LOSING BOOST AFTER 1-2 HOURS OR FREEWAY CURISING WAS BEFORE THE ECS RACE N75 VALVE WAS INSTALLED...IT IS RITE AFTER REVO WAS INSTALLED.....AND EUROCODE KNEW THAT....WHAT ARLAN MOTORSPORT WAS TWO THINGS

1. FIX THE 'LOSING BOOST AFTER 1-2 HOURS OF DRIVING' PROBLEM (WHICH IS THE PROBLEM THAT EUROCODE FAILED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT ITS DUE TO THE REVO)

2. ADJUSTED LIMITED OF THE ECU READING OF BOOST AND THE ACTUAL BOOST TO ACCOMDATE THE RACE ECS N75 VALVE SO THAT THE COMP WOULD NOT ADAPT AND LOWER MY PEAK BOOST (I KNOW THIS IS A BIT VAGUE CAZ I DUN EVEN FULLY UNDERSTAND IT....I ADMIT)

BUT #2 HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH EUROCODE WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT IS PROBLEM #1

when i first discussed this issue with EUROCODE i DID NOT have ECS race N75 installed

but after the N75 was installed the problem did not go away all it did was now the 'limp boost' level was a bit higher (it use to be at 0.80-0.90 now it's at 1.0-1.1) that's the only diff it made...they car would STILL LOSE BOOST AFTER 1-2 HOURS OF DRIVING AND IT WILL BE ALL FINE AFTER RESTART

anyway.....just wanna let people out there know that my problem was SOLVED just not by EUROCODE because i didnt feel that they are that willing to help me out with the problem.........

this is partly due to the poor customer service.....and the key here is to WORK WITH YOU CUSTOMERS AND NOT TELL THEM

"ITS NOT THE PRODUCT THAT WE SOLD....ITS YOUR CAR AND IF WE NEED TO DIAGONSTIC ANYTHING IT'LLL BE $80 AN HOUR"

and once again this is my opinion...you may agree or disagree

Default "car would STILL LOSE BOOST AFTER 1-2 HOURS OF DRIVING AND IT WILL BE ALL FINE AFTER RESTART"

When you restart a car and the boost comes back on, it's called getting out of a limp mode. This is a condition that your car entered a result of over boost and it does not matter how long you drove the car it can happen on short or long trips. And now the story changes and the ECS valve was installed after the problem began sure.

Please don't try and teach your Dr. how to practice medicine and because you don't hear what you want or receive free service call it bad customer service.

Arlan motorsport was only able to help you because Mitchell the head tuner at Revo had been there working on other vehicles. We meaning EuroCode Tuning do not have a tuner from Revo sitting in our office offering free tuning solutions to customers that install N75 Race valves or install mods that cause their vehicle not to run right. Arlan motorsport was only able to assist you because of Mitchell who just coincidentally happened to be at their shop when they looked at your vehicle. As of this morning Mitchell is in Texas and the free tuning solutions stop if you went back to them today they would not be able to assist you or any other Revo customer with custom tuning solutions on the fly anylonger. If we had someone here from Revo we would gladly offer their services to your free of charge as well but we don't that does not make for bad customer service.

We offered to look at you car and if the problem was the Revo we would not charge you but we also mentioned that if the problem was not caused by the software that we would charge you for diagnostic time this is standard practice and by no means bad customer service. You were obviously trying to hide something that was causing your problem (N75 Race Valve) and that's why you were unwilling to pay to have us inspect the problem. If you were so sure that the software was the problem why would you even worry we would have no reason to charge you diagnostic time. Check my previous post with several links to extremely unhappy customers using the N75 Race valve and the answer becomes much clearer to what caused the problem with you car.

Please take the time to read through the links below.

Default Re: "car would STILL LOSE BOOST AFTER 1-2 HOURS OF DRIVING AND IT WILL BE ALL FINE AFTER RESTART"

HAHAHAHAH IGNORANT IS THE WORD HERE

The following is my ORGINALLY POST about the problem it DID NOT MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT A N75 VALVE CAZ I DUN HAVE IT AT THAT TIME!!!!!!

"A follow up to my problem & BEWAREof EUROCODE.COM for REVO mods
User account number (aid):

So as a follow up to my problem about not being able to hit my REVO-ed boost after a 1.5-2 hr freeway crusin'

i called the co. that did the install (i got it at the so cal nor cal meet in SB btw) this co. EUROCODE.com's rep was NOT being very helpful and claims that there is a mechanical problem in my car that's causing it (even though i have told him that everything works fine and good after i turn the car off and back on)....he gives me a 30min lecture of how a car and the turbo work )(which assuming that i know nothing about cars and engines etc.) and how there are whole lotta factors that could caz it....(aka the run-around and offer NO REAL SOLUTION or HELP..... all he said is he'll have to charge me $25 to have it 're-flashed' (and he is certain that it wouldnt help) and $85/hr for any diag. labor

so i said **** that BS....went to my local REVO dealer ARLAN motorsport and the guy was very nice about it....first he suggested that it might need a sofeware update (the last update was in october but there is one that's gonna be release very soon) and then he said he'll look at the codes and stuff to see whatz going on....(of course for free) he said that it's most likely not any mech. stuff since it's gone rite after the ECU reset (aka turning the car off and on)

so my word is....steer clear from tuners co.. that dun take care of their customers after the product have been sold........and i just think it just bad practice overall in general.....and poor business strag.....hey if i were to have my gf's 1.8T A4 chipped i aint NEVER gonna go back to them rite??

so next week i am bringing it in to ARLAN MOTORSPORT to have it checked it

will keep u all posted"

THE STORY DIDNT CHANGE A BIT......YOU MIGHT WANT TO BLAME IT ALL ON THE ECS N75 BUT NOPE THAT"S NOT THE CASE SORRY!!!!.....having poor customer service is bad have poor customer service and THEN BLAMING THE CUSTOMER CHANGING THEIR STORIES IS EVEN WORST...

GOOD THING THERE IS SOMETHING CALL FORUM HISTORIES

just a suggestion.....take it or leave it...you really need to check up on your customer service skills.........and i think I WILL PUT THIS INCIDENT TO REST NOW.....since i think i have proven it pretty clearly that my story NEVER CHANGED and............people on this forum can judge for themselves
