Default Problems with the APR 100 octane program... >

I just had my car chipped about a week ago. I got APR with the 93 and 100 octane programs. The 93 works great but I have had some problems with the 100 octane program. I waited until my car was completely empty (gas warning was on for about 10 miles) and put about 12 gallons of 100 octane in. Then I left the car on the 93 program until I had gone thru another 1/4 of a tank and then switched it to the 100 program. It ran great until I heard the dreaded sound of detonation... Not to mention the fact that it has been running hot while idling. The temp gauge is passing the first notch past half way, which I have been told is not good. I don't get it. What could have caused it? Maybe I was still burning 93 somehow? Maybe the gas wasn't really 100 octane even though that is how it is labeled? I put the program back to stock until I figure what is wrong. Any onsight would be appreciated. TIA.

Default When Audi tried to up the hp.....

on the "S" version of the TT, which turned out to be the ALMS. They tried to increase hp to 245, but had problems with the engine running too hot.

Just something to consider.

What brand of 100-octane were you using? I only use 76's 100-octane Cool Blue, and have never experienced the symptoms you're talking about. If your gas cheks out good, I would call APR, or your tuner and see what they say. Your car should not be running like that at all.

Default I am not saying you can't get ........

more hp from the engine, Audi engineers could get plenty more hp from the engine. But they could not even increase the hp by 20 with out the engine having heat problems.

Do you really think Audi wouldn't have increased the hp( as their competitors did)for the so called sports model if they could. The problem became increasing the performance and still a valid warranty!

Why do you think the 1.8t was passed over by the 3.2?

Default The 1.8t was passed over (partly) because it is a 4-cylinder engine

All of the TTs competitors offer a 6. It's not just about performance. People just expect a car at that price range to come with a 6. It's smoother, better power delivery and more refined.
