Default Question...

I was wondwering how much it would cost to buy the 3.2 front bumper and all its parts needed to install it and also how much it would be to paint it. How much work is needed to install the 3.2 front bumper on my 2001 225 Coupe? Thanx for you'll help.

Someone posted that it was about $900 just to import the part.

Default Shouldn't the parts be available here now that the 3.2 is selling here?

Or do they have to import them all from Europe anyway?

Default I don't think it is a part the dealer would automatically have in stock.

This isn't a high turnover part in the first place so I wouldn't expect the dealer to stock it. If you wanted them to order one I am sure they could, but you would more than likely have to absorb a lot of the shipping costs if not all of them. This is my thought on the subject, as I too have been thinking about adding the front end on my car if I don't end up buying the 3.2L. -Doug

Default Re: Question...

Dealers do not automatically have 3.2 front bumpers in stock. It costs about $1,000 to import one, depending upon taxes and shipping.

For a 2001 TT it makes more sense if you want that look to buy the OEM factory front spoiler from someone like Clair parts or your local dealer. Having it painted will cost about $350 for a competent two-stage paint job.

The gills on the side of the 3.2 are inappropriate to the original design of the TT. Also the different materials for center grille vs. the two side grilles is unattractive.

If I wanted a spoiler lip on a 2001 TT, my option would be for the factory OEM add-on spoiler...

Default Front Spoiler

I was looking into front spoilers and I couldn't figure out how they would go on. Is the front bumper one whole piece or two pieces?

Default The front bumper is one piece.

The new 3.2 bumper is one piece. The OEM lip spoiler that you can buy is a separate piece that glues on to the existing lower spoiler (I think there are a few screws also).

The OEM one that Audi sells? It is glued on.
