Default Question for Dr. Schwing...

I saw the post a ways down regarding seat harnesses bars. I saw your installation pictures and noticed that you did not remove your seats. I very might well do this mod, only if I don't have to remove the seats...and if the seat harness bar presents no interference with the seats folding upright. I would love to be able to glue myself in the seats for some spirited driving and still have the option of using the standard belt for lazy cruising around town. This seems like a really great mod for little money. Looks pretty easy too based on your installation pictures.

Default Yup...No problem..>>

You can pivot the harness bar back and flip the seats up no problem.

Do you have any worries about using a harness with stock seats and airbags?

Default That's what I thought...>>>

So if I want to swap belt systems from stock, how does the modification of the eye bolt for the harness belt affect a quick change back to the "stock belt"? Is it as easy as just flipping the bar back, stashing the harness belts, and just clipping into the OEM's? I also noticed that you had to fashion a backing plate underneath the car. Is this something you fabricate and sell?

Default You don't need to swap anything....

You don't modify the stock belts at all and they remain in place. The eyebolt at the stock shoulder belt base allows you to clip in the left harness piece. The drilled right side mount allows you to clip in the right side harness with no affect on the stock set-up. The hole I drilled there is through the center hanger bracket for my exhaust and provide some additional gusseting. the shoulder belts fold out of site as shown

Default Great! I got it now. Seems simple, and I would probably forego the...>>>

backing plate underneath although. Thanks again Steve for all your great help!
