Default Question from a modding noob.

Okay. So I'm figuring this whole game out. I'm stuck on one part. Suspension. Now, roll your eyes all you want, but my overall goal before performance is to lower the car a bit and give it a little more aggressive look. Eventually I want the whole package, but what steps should I take to lower the car a BIT without spending too much. (fyi, I don't want my car to touch the freakin' ground.) Thanks guys.

Default You wont get the real aggressive look if you only want it lowered alittle...

The real aggressive look you need to go beyond 1.2, FYI...It was the first thing I did (lowering)I went 1.75 front and back...One of the best mod's I have ever done! (and did it myself...well with HackThs)

Default Hard to go wrong with bilsteins and eibachs...

drops the car an inch, not a really aggressive look but certainly better than stock. Handling is much improved and gets you most of the way to what a coilover setup would be. If I remember right it was about $1200 total for bilsteins and eibachs and installation.

Default I have a set of Eibachs on my floor right now...

waiting on my strut mounts and bearings to come in for the install. Already have a set of Konis, this will be a nice compliment. Sway bars up next!

Default KW

Ive got KW var. 2 and it is great - car is looking better a lot and handling is much better than before. With this suspension kit you can adjust height and how hard they are.

Here is picture of this suspension before it was installed on car:

Price was about 1200 EUR (I think it is about 1400 USD)

I've been meaning to ask... what "sizes" or whatever shocks and struts are recommended?

Default "Size"? What do you mean?>>>

There are no differrent "sizes", you just need to be sure to order the part that is speficic to your car, e.g. 180/225, FWD or Q., 4 cyl or 6. All very straightforward when you go to look it up on a retailer's site, usually. The differences have to do with the valving, and sometimes design of the shock tube for fitment/attaching differences. Tube length etc is pre-determined really, based on your car's design. No need to pick any sizes. On your car you would have a choice between Sport and HD units (using Bilstein as an example) which are somewhat different in length. Sports are ideal for use with lowering springs, HDs with stock springs. The sports have a slightly shorter shock tube. Either will work with either, I believe though.
