Quickest Performance
After reading in the forum about "smoking" Boxsters and S2000's and seeing the descriptions of HP vs. Torque-I have a simple question-If my FWD (chipped) has a max HP @5900 and max Torque @ 3500-should I always shift about 3500-4000 for quickest acceleration??

Shift later. When this came up several months back, the evidence showed that you should shift
in the 6000s, if you want the quickest possible time. The hp and torque curves are declining at that point, but the lower gear is still generating more speed than an upshift at 4000 would produce.
I think it may have been JimTT who posted some numbers that seems to show pretty convincingly that these later shifts lead to the quickest performance.
