Default Radio Codes question

I dont have the code for the bose radio in my 01 225 coupe, is there a way to pull the code from the radio while it is in the car? I am sure I will have to disconnect the battery at some point in the near future and would hate to have to go to the dealer to get it reset.

thanks

No - you need dealer assistance.

Default If you give the dealer the radio s/n (from the chassis) and your VIN>>

they can look it up, HOWEVER, I've disco'd my battery several times and never had to enter the code. I have never left it disco'd long, so maybe that's the reason. I'd recommend skipping the "remove battery negative cable" step in most jobs as it's just not necessary (fuel system repairs notwithstanding).

Default Dealer needs the S/N from the H/U, or to connect your car to their VAG tool, then log into Audi's DB

to get your code.

They will charge you $50-100 to do this.

Default Look in your spare compartment. Audi places a small sticker with the code

I found my there and did not have to pull the radio.

Default Audi doesn't, some dealers do..>>

Write it on the Build sheet in the tire well. Some also put it on the top of the radio, so you need to pull it to check..

Default Well, who was the moron that lost the card?...>>

Obviously not the second owner if it didn't come with full documentation. Putting it on the radio is a great convenience for future owners and above and beyond the call... If you're lucky and it's there, you can thank the dealer that took the time to do it..Takes 2 minutes and $5 tools to pull it and check...
Lots less than most seem to want to retrieve a code..

Besides, who would want to steal on of those radios? NOT someone who knows anything...
