Default <rant> boost issues are NOT resolved

I replaced the hoses from the charge pipe to the N75 and the hose from the N249 to the top of the DV, and the car felt a lot better today...till it hit limp mode!!!!!!!!! the car hasn't hit limp mode on the street in ages.........(it was only going into limp mode at the track near the end of a session..)

the last shot is to change out that bigger hose from the charge pipe to the DV, and if that doesn't work, I'm gonna have a local shop take a crack at it....if they don't find a leak somewhere, i think this car's gonna be traded-in to a dealer for a NA car :-(

this is so frustrating.....time to go scan for the codes....

Default what soft/boost controller are you running? What boost is it requesting and delivering?

I wonder if you could have a sticky wastegate.

Default GIAC X, regular N75

requested and actual boost are not excessive and are generally pretty close. i'm going to try replacing another hose that caused similar problems for Ben (ArTT Vandelay), but if that doesn't help then I have no idea...

hmm...if they are pretty close, why would it throw an overboost code? Maybe its something else?

Default that's a very good question....

my guess is that the values are usually very close, but on occasion (or once the hose heats up enough to expand), the requested/measured values differ significantly and the car goes into limp.

i don't know what else it could be, short of a sticking wastegate/bad turbo.

Default I think you have to catch the "overboost" in VAG when it occurs.

Then you want to compare requested vs. actual after that run and see if there are any spikes that could cause the code. I get overboost code when my BM is tuned 2 agressive. This does not happen rightaway (unless I really open up the BM), but certain on/off boost transitions cause that limp. I simply reset it and turn down the BM and car stops hitting limp. Its easily noticable though, especially on my boost gauge. I would first try to be 100% sure that the turbo is infact overboosting by monitoring the boost gauge or better yet VAGCOM.

You should also log your N75 duty cycle - see if the N75 is functioning correctly
