Recently there have been posts asking about replacing the stock headunit. Following xlr8d's instructions I was able to EASILY replace the headunit...

Here is a picture of the wiring harness...

Connections:

1. Connect switched power between Alpine and Metra harnesses.
2. Connect constant power between Alpine and Metra harnesses.
3. Connect ground between Alpine and Metra harnesses.
4. Connect amp turn-on between harnesses.
5. Connect illumination between harnesses.
6. Connect antenna power lead.
7. Connect black metra connector to 1/2 of connector that was disconnected from stock headunit.
7. Connect red metra connector to red stock connector
8. Connect line level to ground loop isolator then isolator to headunit
9. Connect antenna to headunit
10. Connect Alpine harness to headunit

I was able to do this in 30 minutes AFTER coming home from the US Open (Yes, I was a bit excited and really thought it would be easy...)

Tomorrow I will have more pics including the headunit installed and powered on.

Lastly, the aftermarket headunit does produce annoying pops when changing sources, so I am off to Radio Shack tomorrow for a ground loop isolator, per xlr8d's instructions...
