Roach tear down update
Turbo is amazingly in great shape...probably by virtue of not really being used due to hanging off the manifold by one stud...
Exhaust manifold had a great seal to the head...but had sheared 3 studs off from where the turbo mounts up...It goes to the machine shop tomorrow to have the offending studs removed...New hardware and gaskets is sitting in the trunk ready to go...along with a bracket and new hoses.
Also installed the 22mm front sway while I had the subframe dropped from the car.
Managed to get another "old school" UR Quattro raised badge to slap on the trunk lid.
Ordered my caractere grille from LLTek today after trying many other sources who were clean out of em.
Expecting my goody package from TT stuff any day, along with my OEM parts from Miramar VW/Audi...thanks Craig.
The interior will ship this weekend all going well...by thursday I shall order the leather pole positions seats along with brackets...
Wheels will get refinished by next weekend, and I should be able to stick on the new rockers, refinished front bumper and windscreen at the same time...Then once its road worthy I shall drive it a little and then start on tearing out th interior and reworking the audio system...(Those parts should be in any day also...UPS and USPS will hate me )
I swear APR and VW got together when they made that kit and dreamed up the most difficult way of installing it...My hands are so friggin cramped up right now from getting the exhaust manifold off its not even funny...
