Default Second Guessing

A few people on this site have lamented Audi’s choice of using the Haldex system on the TT. A quote from Georg Kacher in the Nov. issue of Automobile Mag. about the new Audi S6 “At the limit of adhesion, you often wonder what will come next: understeer, oversteer, a four-wheel drift, or ESP interference? Which leads us to the conclusion that Audi needs an evolution of the Quattro principle, like the Haldex clutch pioneered by the TT.”

In Phil Llewellin Grand Touring article in the Jan. ’00 issue he states of the Lancer “My eighty-eight year-old mother could drive this car”. The next time you want to complain about the spoiler that is getting tacked on because of complains about lift at speed be thankful that the engineers at Mitsubishi are not looking out for your best interest

Default As someone who doesn't like Haldex...

I'm always wary of these comments. Maybe it's that I love the feel of the viscous-coupling Porsches so much, or that my TorSen A4 treated me so well.

I'm sure I'll grow used to the Haldex, perhaps even grow to like it, but there's a fun certainty that comes with knowing the TorSen and VC systems have held up to 600+hp.
