Default In my opinion...

we pay $500~ for tuners for our chips, boost controllers available from $300~. Have an idea who spends longer tuning it? them? or us?

AND..

Who do you believe in more in a 40k car? them? or yourself?

Default Prices means nothing....

you can't base quality by using price. But I do agree with you that Chip is your best bet.

Default I discussed Boost controllers with DTMAutohaus

I am interested in the whole boost controller issue. After reading Max Speed I called DTM Autohaus they are using the Apex'i SAFC (I think) the digital tunable system. This lets you do all sorts of neat things, regulate boost in each gear, set boost levels for lots of different variables. I would imagine that getting too carried away might really hurt your engine. I seriously would love this level of tunability, but apparently its quite a Spagetti mess to integrate to the Audi ECU. They said the Split second also works well, but won't boost as high, its based off stock boost levels. The Apex'i can work with your chip to really crank the boost if you want. I am no expert, nor a master electrical installer, so Cutting apart my wiring loom will have to wait until After All parts of warranty have expired. At least with a chip the appearance of stock is maintained and is reversible.

Default The problem is that a boost controller like the Apex is designed to bypass your ECU.

So a tuner has to integrate this along with a the ECU, so you won't a bunch of errors or even start your car. It will never be available for the TT because it is not a financial option.
