Spring Compressor Differences
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/13826/spring_compressor_tools_002.jpg"></center><p>The gray set was my first. One thin hook on one side & two on the other. No Safety "pins". I never felt safe using these. They had a tendency to move/slide around the spring
Second set has three times the mass with safety "pins". The extra contact surface keeps the tool from moving and the safety pins are great piece of mind. They came in the plastic case in the picture.
Best $45 I've spent on tools.

Those are really nice. I've helped my brother compress..
springs on my mustang before install and let me tell you there was more then one occassion I thought the spring was going to come loose from the compressor. In other words I know where you are coming from. If I had to buy another spring compressor I'd definetly opt out for the ones witht the safety pins.
