Squeeks

My 2001 TTQR (16,000 miles) developes a loud squeeking door like squeek during bumpy ride conditions, like going over speed bumps - not right away, but after I've driven for 10 or 15 minutes. Started about 1000 miles ago. Hard to guess where its coming from, but I do not think its from the suspension system. The dealer (Newport Audi, So. CA) did not fix it on my first complaint.

Any ideas?

you figure it out, your the rocket scientist =P

Some have had the door striker replaced and that solved the problem of squeeks /rattle

Newport Bch Audi's

Hey, RockeTT. I don't have alot to offer on your request, but thought it was interesting (maybe not) that my TT came from the same dealer. I bought it through eBay Motors from someone in Irvine.

I think the guy who sold it (8500 miles) may have been tired of some of the small issues like your door squeaks. He had the cluster replaced due to a problem with the temp guage, and the service dept. put the lower dash panel back on improperly, causing the thing to rattle like crazy. A similar problem existed in the engine compartment, where the vacuum reservoir bracket was bent down and rattling badly at 3000 rpm. I fixed both problems rather easily, and the car has been tight ever since.

I guess I'm suggesting that you keep a close eye on the work coming out of that shop, given my experience. I live north of Santa Barbara, so I don't go to Newport Audi for work.
