Default Starting problems>>>

Ever since I installed the Stg3 kit. I've been having problems starting. It takes about 3-4 seconds until the engine fires up. Sometimes even longer. I talked to APR and they confirmed I received the right ECU programming. They told me to check the gapping of the plugs. which I don't really understand why that would make it hard to start. Yeah if one of them was gapped wrong I'd think it would misfire or something. Not cause the engine not to start ar all. Then he said it could be the N249 valve.(I think that was the valve he said). It was something about the secondary air system. Could that be it? I never heard of anything about it on here. When I had that fuel line come apart by the fuel pump. Could air in the system be causing this? I vag-com it and came up with nothing. Once the engine is running, it runs like a champ. No problems at all. well accept for the DP still hitting. If anybody has any info or something to troubleshoot. Please let me know.

TIA,

Rich

Default Rich...Got your email...>

I'm guessing fuel or spark. Probably fuel. Recent fuel filter change? Can you hear the pump? All the other stuff needs to be optimized also ie: Plugs and Gap. I don't think air would remain in the fuel system though as it's a high pressure, recirculating system...

Default Back to the drawing board. Problem is back.

I just turned the key and it happend again. Do you suppose pressure could be bleeding off one of those line on the fuel pump. If it was bleeding off would this problem be it. would you dare to take the cover off and the top of the housing and turn the key to see if there are any leaks. Or would that be to dangerous?
I don't think I cracked one of those crappy line when I switched pumps.

Leaking fuel injectors? Do you have a gauge to do a leak down test of the system?

Default I have a gauge if you needed to borrow it. One side note >>>

There is an adaptation channel in the ecu for statup and warmup fuel. I had an issue with cold starting at one point and a minor tweak fixed it. I'm throwing this out there in case everything checks out and it still sounds like a fuel problem.
