Default thinking of modifying strut mounts...

well, not really the mounts, just how they're installed. Basically I was thinking about replacing the nut directly above the bearing (no. 4) with a small washer and using the strut cap nut to hold everything together. I figure this will squeeze the mount and hold it securely to the strut tower. It should provide less movement and flex out of the mount and provide better steering feel. I've got a DE coming up this weekend and might be replacing the bearings before it, so I might do it at this time. Anyone know any reason why I shouldn't attempt this?

Default Since the shock shaft has to rotate (Hence the bearing) you might get binding...>

of the entire assembly. All the spring force is supported by the large rubber bushing anyway. This really doesn't accomplish anything. Does not sound like a good plan to me..

Default I had considered that...

I'd have to check the clearance of the strut cap to the mount to be sure. If the cap contacted the mount, it would hold the shaft still, but it would still turn in the strut itself. What I would question at that point is the possibility of premature wear on the seal. However, I think that would be minimal. The additional resistance likely wouldn't be much.

Default What about adjustable camber plates?

Is'nt that what Ground Control makes?

Default they're not cheap, and this is free...

I've heard of problems with their bearings as well. Believe me I'd love a set, but I don't know if I'd even use the adjustment much since adding negative camber with them also adds toe-in. Kinda counter productive.
