Transmission problems

I had a third gear grind for the last few months. Service manager reccomended I run it till it locks up for warranty reasons. I took it racing last week. It grinded three or four times then stopped completely. Hasn't returned am I lucky or should I worry?

Run it till it locks up??!!! Tell them to send me whatever they are smoking.

How about..
" hey, my car is not running properly. Please fix it because that is what a warranty is for."
Unless you really WANT your car to be in the shop for an extra couple of weeks when you drive it to destruction...

Well, you are sort of screwed now.. if you can't replicate it anymore

there is nothing they will do.

I had this problem too! Service manager took my car for a drive, was able to "replicate" the ....

problem and noted it right on the service report!

worry....

if the problem ever creeps up again, Audi will now say that it was "wear & tear due to driver abusing the vehicle" and there's no way in heck that they will cover it under warranty.

Worry!

How far are you from the end of the warranty? I'd hate to go OUT of warranty, and then have it lock up on me, and then get stuck with the bill.

I've had the 3rd gear grind for about a year. Dealer has not been able to replicate the problem, and therefore won't do anything, so this past weekend I got it on videotape. I'm going to show it to him this week and demand a new tranny.

The fact that the dealer won't do anything without proof has worried me, and it has been noted on the invoice everytime I've been in there. It's not my fault if it decides to go away whenever it is in the shop!<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/739988.phtml">My post from yesterday about this</a></li></ul>
