TT Automatic Transmission
I bought a used 03 1.8 Automatic and I get quite a bit of a jerk when
it automatically shifts from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. Dealer says
this is the wave of the future, the latest in auto transmissions.
Someday soon they will all behave this way.
Anybody have this problem, or is this guy correct? My first Audi, so I
don't know what to believe.

I have a 1.8 Coupe with the Tiptronic, which I referred to as an automatic. I hope to get a second opinion, as it does kick pretty hard. Smooths out a little when warm, but still very noticeable.

HERE! I have a 04' 1.8 Auto. Seems to be the same as yours. very noticeble when shifting itself among 1.2.3gear , especially cold. dealer doesn't think that is a problem. they just see it as a problem if there is really one but we want it to be perfect, right? I have nothing to do with it here in Canada. but it somewhat means the car has a faster shifter than others?

Mine is running smoothly
I'm driving an auto transmission but I don't have that problem. My car is manufactured in 2004 with 6 speed tiptronic with CVT transmission. The gear running very smooth and most of the time the gear changes is not noticeable.
It jerk once last time when the MAF metre was damaged. Once replaced the problem solved.
I was driving an A4 before which also came with an auto transmission. It's 5 speed tiptronic. Even with this gearbox, I don't have the problem.
Is your car chipped and modded?
