TT-with production errors

hi there, i just got my new tt on last friday, the 19th of march, directly at the audi-headquarters in audi ingolstadt. it was impressing, you stand at the secound floor in a huge hall with lots of windows surrounding you, smoking nervously cigarettes and sipping coffee, when on the ground floor your car drives in. then you went to a large stairway to your car.... fascinating! but at my way home with my new dream car i imagined a few errors, which shouldn´t occur on an audi, no matter which modell. for example: - the driver seat on the left makes terrible noises every time you move some of your muscles - the fis (driver information system) wasn´t connected with the bose sound-system - the right window wasn´t able to open or close.....i hope my audi-dealer will fix these erros soon. anyway - i love this car greetingz from germany ralf

Your enthusiasm is normal, the defects you describe are unexcusable in this car. And the fact that they gave you a car with these defects at the factory, says that Audi doesn't have a grip on the quality control issue with the car or with the staff at Audi. I would not accept a car who's basic controls and systems were not functioning correctly at the time of delivery. Something is very very wrong at Audi and that car should have not been released to you.

Fast building this cars to keep up with the great demand allways seems to bring Q.C. down, I agree with you, it should never happen! The new owner should allways take his or her time inspectig and testing the car. As a side note: The first year of the BOXSTER was full of problems from basic Q.C. to bigger mech. problems.

Pat, I agree...I've been very disappointed in Porsche QC. more...

In fact my A4 1.8t has much better fit and finish than my 1993 or 1995 Porsches did. In fact all my Alfa Romeos were equal or better than the Porsches...and they best build quality of any car I have owned was my 1980 308 GTSi Ferrari. I bought it with 85,000 miles on the dial and it was as tight as a new car. I used it as my daily driver and sold it at 124,000 miles for only two thousand less than I paid for it. The Boxster is the most over price car I can think of. Who in their right mind would pay $48,000 for a Boxster when then could get a 95 993 Carrera w/ less than 30,000 miles for the same price...and with more usuable room and better performance.

Have the problems been rectified yet Ralf?Also I wonder if the Audi dealers in the US do some QC on the cars when they arrive. The cars did just spent a good week on the ocean. There's bound to be something that's jostled loose.Is there an Audi dealer that on the forum that would like to comment?

I got my TT on March 5th, w/o anything to complain. The quality of the TT is outstanding; I had 2 A3 in the last 2 years and also no problem with them. I am shure they will fix your problems quick. Good luck !
