TT Remote Problem.
Hi All,<p>My remote is acting wierd in the last 2 days. Sometimes it just doesn't work after a short trip of around 2 miles. I do not think that the range is the issue here as I try it about 1-2 feet from the car. Is there a minimum range ? However, it self-corrects itself after sometime. Sometimes I find that one remote works but the other doesn't.<p>Anybody have similar experiences ? What gives ?<p>Thanks for any input.<br>Jay.

Update...
Also,<p>If I use my key to lock the car, the alarm is NOT activated. With the front door open and key NOT in the ignition, the car chimes away to glory.<p>Do not know if these are related but thought I would throw additional details in if it matters.<p>Thanks in advance.<br>Jay.

A similar situation happened to me about a week ago. After key removed, chime would go off when door opened, but alarm wouldn't set. Finally figured out that when pulling key out of ignition, it wasn't making the cylinder pop out completely. Now when I remove key, I always pull in complete motion. Everything OK now.

Ken & Jay,<p>I have the very same problem with my TT, ie the key cylinder did not pop out completely when locked. Audi Australia have acknowleged this probem and are about to replace my ignition lock (waiting for parts from Germany). They have identified this problem in 2 other TT's in Australia.<p>Must be a bad batch of ignition locks...

Problem Found....
I found the problem. Ken & Gadgetboy are correct. It is a case of the key cylinder not coming out properly. If I apply some light pressure when I remove the key, the problem goes away.<p>I will pursue this w/ my dealer and AoA. I will post as soon as they have a solution for this problem. Hope it is not a TSB to inform consumers that they need to press on the key while removing it :-)<p>Thanks for responses.<br>Jay.
