Default v1 remote schematic

ok, sorry i still don't have pics on my interior mods but let's just say custom car stereo is getting me ticked off. they didn't install my icelink correctly. they've got my amp setup so the soundstage is behind my head, which i've temporarily fixed by fading the speaker +8 to the front. btw, the amp is placed behind the taillight. who knew there was any space in there. they also screwed up the invinca shield install a little.

so my question is, i was trying to do the v1 remote in the driver's side air vent but it doesn't fit correctly unless you hardwire the telephone wire into the back of the v1. i have one picture of the back of a v1 remote but can't tell how to tell them to hardwire it. anyone know how to do this? otherwise, i'm gonna have to have them move it to the steering column. thanks and i promise i'll get some pics when they get everything straight.

Default Depending on how you are inserting it...

<center><img src="http://images12.fotki.com/v212/photos/2/256520/2174197/InsertInnerRingback-vi.jpg"></center><p>you may not need to hard wire the remote.

Default I don't understand what you are asking exactly, but do these pix help any (link)?

Is the width added by the "phone" cord the problem? Could could take off the connector and solder wires to the lands if you had too, it should not be that hard to do...

The six leads on the left of the black brick:

Default yes...

the extra width is the problem as the detector is sitting too far to the right when you're trying to see it, so the arrows are being covered by the vent bezel and the central louver toggle is right over the counter.

so i'm thinking if they hardwire thecord to the board it may work but i'm about to give up and plop it on top of the steering column. thanks for the pics.

Default i always wanted to integrate my V1 this way...but would need to get the housing.

i also found out how he modified his remote...i'll post once i find it in my archives. a little cutting here and there, plus rerouting wires.

is it possible to source the small black housing? if so, i would be willing to do this.

Default rerouting to the steering column is easy...sourcing the right housing was my issue. the

red plex lens is no problem...just flat red plex.
