Vibration between 30 and 40 MPH

My 2003 TT roadster 1.8T 6 speed quattro with 66300 miles has a vibration between 30 and 40 mph. The vibration occurs while upshifting and downshifting, while coasting in gear or neutral, hot or cold. Same all car vibration.

The only time there is no vibration is during hard acceleration.

Does anyone have a idea?

Could be lots of things. Out of balance tire would be my first thought.

To repeat this, do I settle at 40 MPH and then floor it, or accelerate from a lower speed and start the stopwatch at 40 MPH?
