That I've noticed and I've been running this way for a few years...
There is a lip there so it drains as it would normally...

The venting may actually promote laminar airflow....

The windshield forces the air to make a change of direction. This creates turbulence at the base (leading edge) of the windshield. Venting the aft edge of the hood allows engine air (maybe even pressurized slightly: where's my DAS?) to exit the compartment and flow into the elbow of the join between windshield and hood.

I did something simular to this ...

on my Mk4 GTI.I'm sure the OEM piece is simular TT and golf/gti. I just Trimmed the top flappy piece so it would still stick on to the car. Just curious. Would this smaller trim piece fit a mk4 golf/gti?

1st time post, I surfed around for k04-020 info (I got one in my car)
