Well I am back in the country finally... it is good to be home after 4 months in desolation. And of course, I had to do something to the car - so I took the reflectors off the headlights. Thanks to all the good posts on the subject, it didn't take too long. Four hours I think from start to finish - not too bad for the first time having the front end apart.

Lessons learned in no particular order:

1. Pull the car ALL the way into the garage before dismantling it. I was lucky I didn't have to go run to the store for something and leave my house wide open.

2. The torx bolts next to the SMIC are a PITA - there has to be an easier way than a 1/4" wrench and torx bit, but I didn't think of it.

3. Test everything prior to buttoning all the panels back up. Didn't quite plug the parking lamp/turn signals back into place all the way.

4. Double ovens are $$$$$.

5. I am not a good painter/bondo artiste so I elected to fill the reflector holes with the black headlight sealant. I think it is better than electrical tape - and no light leaks through. I haven't seen anybody else with this mod As they say...necessity is the mother of invention! (reference LL#1)

Again - would not have been possible without the great writeups everybody has posted. Thanks. I just wish I had returned a little earlier so I could have made TTE. Glad to hear it was a good time.
