Default Check this thread...>

But rumor has it there is no more production on this kit, and the guys in the UK who have them aren't giving them up...

https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/332760.phtml</a

Default Try www.vagparts.com

From previous posts...

Mounting parts required are:
To chassis number 8N-1-025600 with Hydraulic - 8N7 898 107
To chassis number 8N-1-025600 with Manual - 8N7 898 107 A
From chassis number 8N-1-025600 with Hydraulic - 8N7 898 107 B
From chassis number 8N-1-025600 with Manual - 8N7 898 107 C

The black trim piece running around the rear of the convertible top protects the paint in the area that the hardtop rests on. It was also standard on some 2002-2003 roadsters and it is available from your local Audi dealer also. The trick is to use part number 8N7 853 607-A versus the part number that was part of the retrofit kit (non-A). This is an expensive piece of aluminum listing at $352 from your local Audi dealer.

Default More info about the minimum pieces required and using manual/electric kits in reverse.

There are 7 pieces of the kit that are mandatory.
(2) front windshield mounting brackets (replace current aluminum with steel & larger dia.)
(2) larger dia guide pins for conv top (ht has larger already)
(2) rear mounting brackets (L&R)
(1) trim strip for ht to rest onto.

The larger dia. guide pins could be easily fabricated by a local machine shop. They need to duplicate the current conv. ones but larger diameter to match the ht. The trim strip is available through US dealers (see below). So if you can buy the minimum 4 parts above individually then you are good to go.

---previous post info --->
There were two different kits originally specified. One for electric tops and one for manual tops. The only difference between the two was the passenger side windshield mounting bracket. The electric top bracket has a microswitch that I suspect is not part of the manual top bracket. While I'm not sure, I suspect that the electric top bracket could be used on a manual top but not vice versa. The installation PDF file hosted by TTechnology contains the complete parts breakdown of the different kits.

The other parts of the kit include new seals for the end of the doors which in my mind are not required. However these new seals were standard on all roadsters starting at chassis number 25601, so these can be sourced from your local Audi dealer if you want to install these. The black trim piece running around the rear of the convertible top protects the paint in the area that the hardtop rests on. It was also standard on 2002-2003 roadsters and it is available from your local Audi dealer also. The trick is to use part number 8N7 853 607-A versus the part number that was part of the retrofit kit (non-A). This is an expensive piece of aluminum listing at $352 from your local Audi dealer.

The remaining pieces in the kit are the T-handle wrench used to turn the locking arms into place in the windhield brackets, two plastic protective legs for the rear pins during storage and the cloth slip case for storing the hardtop. This T-handle wrench is nothing special and a substitute could be easily fabricated or again you could buy this part alone from vagparts.com.

1x Mounting Support, Right, Rear (replaces part number 8N7 817 188)
4x Black High Tensile Steel Fixing Bolts (per above)

Precision aftermarket side mounting supports manufactured in the UK from carbon steel which, using the high tensile bolts supplied, bolt to your roadster’s roof hinge plates to accept the side securing posts fitted to your TT’s hardtop roof. They replace the discontinued and now difficult to source Audi part numbers listed above and will fit all TT Roadsters from 1999 to 2006.

Price including delivery:

£287 With 3D printed electrical connectors and brass contacts to connect the rear screen demister and allow the car to recognise that a hardtop is fitted.

£212 Without electrical connectors (these fittings will accept the connectors referred to above if you prefer to add them later).

PM, Text or WhatsApp me (should cost less) on +447480125658 (please include the +44 as I’m currently working in Italy) thanks.

Curious what the 1x 3 Piece Robust (220 micron) Clear Polyurethane Contoured Self-Adhesive Rear Deck Rubbing Strip look like. Also, are they available separate from the kit?
