Code 12425 2014 tt problems

Hello!

I got my oil changed a month ago and when I got it back, the engine light was on. I took it back and they read the codes for me and it seems to be some sort of fuel pump issue. I’ve done some searching online and I really can’t find much about it.

It’s been driving fine until today when I got gas as I went to leave the gas station it just died. Several times I started it up went to hit the gas and it just died. I was an hour and a half from home and thank God it started up and ran and got me home -but now I know it needs to be fixed immediately

I’m hoping that I can fix it myself- but I just need to order the parts..and if I can’t fix it get it to mechanic quickly, because I need a car. (Single mom)

Has anyone had any experience at all? I live in the mountains and I’m nowhere near an Audi specific mechanic, so often times I need to do the research on what it needs… and go from there.

Appreciate any advice you can share!

19545/P3089/012425 - Signal Line for Fuel Pump Electronics: Electrical Malfunction

Possible Solutions

• Check/Replace Transfer Fuel Pump (G6). See Special Notes
• Check/Replace Fuel Pump (FP) Control Module (J538).

Special Notes

• When found in the M.Y. 2006 - 2007 NAR BPY 2.0T FSI engine see:
• TSB 01-08-06 -or- TPI 2017131 which mentions "updated" electric/transfer (in tank) fuel pumps.

Since the issue can be one of two things, you need to figure out which one; (G6) or (J538), otherwise you may end up replacing a perfectly good part. If you don't get a good answer here, come over to the Audi TT Forum UK and post there also.

Actually, it could be one of three things after I called the dealer. That’s my problem. I’m not sure which one it is.

yes. Thanks for the reminder. I should’ve updated this just for research purposes. It was the control module on the fuel pump that's located on the gas tank. The mechanic said there's actually two fuel pumps on the Audi. This one was on top the fuel tank. He said other than having to tear out the whole stereo system on the passenger side it wasn't too hard to get to lol

$679 in less than a week to fix it.

be careful because when he put everything back together, he messed up my drain system, and I had to take it back to him because my Audi was taking on water and I knew this because the inside of the windows were fogging
