Default difference between US models and Australian model

I'm a former owner of a a6 2.7t and a a4 1.8t when i lived in the states. I'm thinking of picking up a mkii tt and i was wondering what kind of option do i have available to me if i wanted to upgrade my car?

Id like to upgrade the exhaust, intake and computer. can i place a chipped ecu into my car without an issue? are the exhaust and intake piping routed the same way so I can use US piping layout so i can use US model upgrades?
