Default What's the widest tire you would run?

19" wheels leave the factory with 255's which personally are way too narrow for 9" wide wheels.

Default why do you like the 255's? They don't provide any rim protection... almost the opposite

your rims will hit before the tires!

Default I wouldn't want to run wider than 255s on the front

You might need to shop for a tire with a bit more rim protection. The Direzzas I have now are pretty good in that regard. So are the RE01Rs that Danielle runs.

255 is it for me, I'm afraid of rubbing the wheel wells.

Default With 35 series tires I can't see a wider tire giving much more protection...

there just isn't enough sidewall to give any protection.

Default Why don't you just switch brands? All 255's are not created equal, and I noticed that...

the Conti's are narrower than other brands (my 255 Dunlops have a larger tread width and offer more rim protection from curbs). You should be able to lookup tread width (and sectional width) specs directly on tire manufacturer websites. When looking at 295 width tires for another vehicle, variances of up to 1" between brands were not uncommon in the same size range. And an extra .50" is all you might need for the extra protection.

Yes, rubbing means the tire sidewall is contacting the body at the fender lip inside the wheel well.
