Default Does everyone know this except for me?

I was stuck in traffic over the weekend and was playing around with the shift **** for some reason when I happened to pull down on the **** while it was in Drive. Lo and behold, the car changed from Automatic mode to Dynamic mode. Playing around a bit more, I realized that pulling down from D switches back and forth between dynamic and automatic driving modes. I was like kid in candy store. No need to reach for Drive Select button!

Or am I just an idiot for not seeing this in the instructions manual somewhere? :-)

Pulling back shifter on TTS puts you in sports mode. Drive select stays in same mode.

And, yes, all in the manual ...

This has tricked a few people.
It is a bit of an idiosyncrasy of the system.
Even though the car remembers your Drive Select Mode on restart, it does not keep the transmission in Sport.
Each trip I leave it in Drive for a few minutes until Drive bugs me in some way then I toggle it into Sport.

I believe that the mode used to determine gas mileage is the mode it is required to start up in.

I'm sure you are not the only one, but yes sport mode has been around for a while. Changing Drive Select to Dynamic, automatically engages S(port) for the transmission. Dynamic and S are equivalent in that sense, however, when changing Drive Select to Dynamic that also changes steering, suspension etc. whereas changing the transmission to S only puts the engine and the transmission in Dynamic. As said above, the transmission never starts in S, so if you leave Drive Select in Dynamic, then restart the car, you won't actually be in full Dynamic mode until you pull back on the shift lever to engage Sport mode, which engages Dynamic mode for the engine and transmission. That also applies to Manual mode. If you want sharp throttle response in Manual mode you need to make sure the transmission is in S before activating Manual mode.

Not if you leave it in Individual, with most all settings to Dynamic (in my case all but suspension which is in comfort).
