Hey, my Mk3 TTRS didn't come with direct TPMS sensors. Luckily, there's a few vendors selling kits. What I'm finding out the hard way is that most of them are selling new version antennas and sensors, along with the wiring harness and bracket. My question is: How hard is it to re-program an antenna to work with car and then 'see' the sensors?
The OEM antenna is P/N: 8S0907273 and the OEM sensors are P/N: 5Q0907275B. What I'm finding are antennas for other Audi models that start with a '7P', '4M', '2H' and so on. I'm being told that all I need to do is re-program one of these newer, cheaper antenna to work with my car and they'll work. Is this true? Thanks in advance for any helpful information. I never expected to have to research this so much.
I have an 2016 TT with tire rotation sensing not built in TPMS sensing. I ordered this TPMS kit from AliExpress (it's in CAD). It wasn't too difficult to tap the harness and install the antenna module in the trunk. If your RS has the antenna already, it might be good to go with new sensors. No programming was done on my summer/winter tires to get them to work. They just worked.
