again, we still don't have a clue as to the following:
1) is there a check engine light on
2) if so, have you attempted to clear it
3) if so, does it come back
4) is there a noticeable problem with the car
also:
1) why did you gut the cat? you won't see appreciable power gains, and you will also most likely see a rear oxygen sensor code from now on.
2) you say your car is running lean. what are the indicators of such? what do your fuel trim numbers look like? Have you checked for vacuum/boost leaks?
3) as explained in the Vag-com forum FAQ:
<i>When posting questions related to a problem you are having with a particular car, always state the exact make/model/year/engine of the car you are having a problem with. Also state any modifications you have made to the car. Incomplete information will often get you no answer, or worse yet, the wrong answer.
When posting questions involving trouble codes, post the complete code(s), and the text that comes with them. Do not omit anything, and don't drop any digits, not even a leading zero! Make sure to mention which controller (Engine, ABS, etc.) had the fault code(s). VAG codes are 5 digit numbers, unlike Generic OBD-II P-Codes, which are the letter P followed by four numbers. If you have a diagnostics question relating to VAG-COM or one of the factory tools (VAG-1551, VAS-5052, etc.), feel free to post it here. If you have a diagnostics question relating to an Autozone scan, it should be posted in the AudiWorld Autozone Forum ;-) or in a forum relating to your specific vehicle or engine. Any posts that do not pertain to VAG-COM or VAG diagnostics will be locked or moved by moderators.</i>
