Headlight Ballast Coding/Replacement
I've been poking around the forums attempting to find somebody that might have a similar issue, and perhaps would have an idea as to the solution. However, I've come up short. Simply put, I had the headlight symbol with the arrow come up (supposedly marking an issue with the AFS system), and when I ran the codes I found:
02234 - Power Output Stage for Left Headlight (J668)
014 - Defective - MIL ON
Looking around the forums seemed to indicate that this was usually an issue with the ballast. Since I already had a flickering with the headlight, I figured that a ballast seemed a likely bet. So, I looked around to find a part that would work, looked into a lot of compatibility stuff, and then finally found this: https://parts.audiusa.com/p/Audi_200...GNd8aVZTzpi8KI
Since I know that buying directly from Audi is just a money pit, I took note of the part number. 8P0 907 391 : This number does differ from my own number which is 8E0 941 329, but I couldn't find a listing on the Audi website for that part, and it seemed like the part was the same just likely different revisions?
So, I installed the new ballast today, and the flickering is gone. However, the error code has remained, and when the car turns on only the right headlight dips up and then back down like they usually do. It seemed like a programming issue, so I followed this guide:
https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...VAG-COM-Coding
I couldn't complete the guide because when I tried to complete step 7 I got an error 22 indicating the coding wasn't accepted. The car was off and key set to accessory.
Both bulbs were replaced less than 8000mi ago.
I'd also like to mention that the code has changed, it's now: 02233 - Left Headlight Power Output Stage (J667)
004 - No Signal/Communication - MIL ON
Finally, I noticed that it's saying that the AFS module can't be found within module 55 in VCDS. The part number verifies quite clearly that it's an AFS part.
At this point I'm kind of scratching my head and not sure where to go, any help would be extremely appreciated!
Thank you!
