I have a Sym II radio from a 02 Allroad in my B5 - Can anyone tell
Is the harness under any strain with the HU installed? There are two +vdc connections, the always hot "30", and the switched "15". either of those could cause this problem if there is a loose connection somewhere, provoked if the harness is under strain.
Does the problem occur if the car is not being driven, and is parked with the key ON, engine OFF? Have you scanned the radio for DTCs?
VAG-COM Version: Release 704.1
Address 56: Radio
Control Module Part Number: 4B0 035 195 J
Component and/or Version: symphony II NP2 0050
Software Coding: 02007
Work Shop Code: WSC 00000
2 Faults Found:
00858 - Connection; Radio ZF Output to Antenna Amplifier
44-00 - Short Circuit
00857 - CD Changer Unit (R41)
49-00 - No Communications
Additionally I was just over at TeddyBGame's house over the weekend as he built me a custom harness to go from my old Sym I to this Sym II so I'd like to believe the wiring is ok but of course I could be wrong. Yes the problem occurs when the car is not being driven, key on, engine off. Oh and I should mention I can not get the radio to display in the cluster like my old Sym I did.
Diversity box connected (related to ZF shorted DTC?), CD changer not connected, (related to CD communications DTC?), No Navigation, telephone or SBS, Fader active, No Bose display, No amp mute with telephone call, A4.
The current coding 02007 is for A6/Allroad, with diversity box, CD changer, and MFSW connected/installed.
