Default Radio coding possible?

Hello,
I live in Germany with my US spec 05 B6S4 and I would like to set the radio so that it receives both the odd and even decimal radio stations. I have the standard Symphony II with in-dash 6 disk changer and Bose.

In Europe they broadcast on the even decimals, like 100.2, as well as odds and I cannot receive them with the US spec radio.

Is this something I can change with my VAG or is it hard coded in the radio? I've checked and cannot find a way. Can anyone help!?

TIA!

Sorry, no way. You need a different head unit.

Default Thats what I thought. I wonder how diffrent the Euro models are from the US ones.

I suppose I could find one rather easily with all the people putting in Navs and aftermarket radios.

Do you think if I found one it would work without any issues?

Thank you very much for the response!

Default Suppose they are the same, except the software. They sell for ca. 175 EUR at ebay.de. Changing is...

...simply plug and play, just recode the new one as your old one was coded.

I really doubt - it should be a sw issue(coding)

In BMW systems (what we are able to hack) - you just need to recode your car to the particular region.

Ask Uwe - how to change region in the radio..

That's what they told me also at Audi service. "You need a new head unit." ARG!!! Also heard about this one guy who has a Q7 US import. He had a same problem but that solved out with vag-com coding.

It completely depends on which radio. Some can be re-coded, others cannot.
