RNS Navigation, won't allow my security code?

RNS Navigation, won't allow my security code?
I put in the "correct" security code? Is there a way to try and put it in thru the VAG? I can put it in numerous time correctly but it doesn't unlock it? It keeps flashing to the disclaimer screen and then immediately back to the security code screen. Its like its not synchronizing with the car. I know it usually only allows like 3 attempts but its allowing me to input many/numerous time without locking me out, because I'm NOT entering the WRONG code but the correct one, so it allows me to enter it more? I actually entered the wrong code 3 times on purpose to try and gauge what was going on, so now its in safe mode. Gotta wait like 60 minutes to try the code again. Now if i disconnect both the battery cables +/- and let it sit for a few minutes and then hook it back up. Does that allow me to input the security code again? HELP!!!

Some say they had to do it exactly after 60 minutes and they had to have ignition on while waiting for the time to expire. Once it allows you to enter the code again, press RADIO (or FM/AM) and SETUP for 10 seconds to reset/reboot the RNS-E. You should be able to enter the code then.

Well it did it! I left the radio on for like 60 minutes, but I did not have to have the ignition on, I just left it in the key hole. I did read the Instruction manual and It said something about the RNS would shut off after 30 minutes but you had 10 minutes to turn it back on before you would have to start the 60 minutes again. So it was left on for 60 minutes, I put in my code and it worked.
I think what happened was that I had to replace the instrument cluster and that cut all power to it. And after reading the instruction booklet it mentioned something about "Convenience Coding"? The RNS needs to be "synchronized" with the the vehicle.

I had the same
When I got a new cluster the RNS-E saw a new "vehicle" and asked for the code. Entered it and never saw it again. The reset thing is a nice to know, we had at least 3 people on navplus.us with a similar issue and it always solved it.
