Scan Module

I get an error "module not ready" when trying to scan through module 34 but if I scan JUST module 34 it's ok. Is that normal?

Also, just now I was able to run a succesful scan for fault codes; all other tries before were failing at address 2.

Since when does a B4/8D Audi A4 have a 34-Level Control?

Everything works fine except when the scan tries 34.
The laptop is a Dell inspiron 4000 running XP professional and the interface is a VAG-HEX.

I'm still confused,

I repeated what seems like a typographical error. There's no such thing as a B4/8D Audi. I suppose that should be B5/8D?

Just to clarify: Exactly what year/model car do you have?

B5 is what I meant

It's an Audi A4 Avant Tip Quattro 1.8T

The ECU are 8D

It's a 1999.5 but it has some left overs from the 1999 models.

So what do you get when you go into module 34 manually?

Again, a B5/8D chassis Audi A4 isn't supposed to have a Level Control Module at address 34.

So the next question is how/why are you trying to scan "through" module 34?
