Is there a way to reprogram the ECU to manual from automatic?

The type of tranny should be the second-to-last digit of the ECU's coding: xxx?x
I'd expect that the ? is currently a 5 or a 7. Try changing that to a 1 and let us know what happens.
In principle, a 1 should mean 6-speed manual. But the ECU might not accept it, since that ABZ engine that I assume you have was never mated to a manual from the factory (at least as far as I can tell).

Someone from the A4 forum ( Audi technician ) said if I try to recode the ECU....

Here are the codes.
Engine software coding is 01273
Should I change it to 01213 ?
Instrument cluster code is 00283
I changed it randomly and e.g..00113 will switch the clock to Euro time ( 15:45 ) and the total miles to total kilometers. Do you guys know the code for the cluster with manual transmission? Apply break before selecting gear will appear all the time. If I unplug the TCU the lawyer screen disappears, but still can't find the screen for the manual tranny.

...there is no instrument cluster coding that can be changed to change the cluster to manual transmission. I suspect that this is automaticly selected according of the wiring to the cluster (the idea of coding pins)...
Since your current engine coding is "01273", try to change it to "01213", the "1" should stand for manual transmission.
