Tiptronic recode
My TCU model is 8D0 927 156 BN
It currently shows code 00000.
When I try recoding it the new code won't take.
I'm using VAG-HEX and I succesfully recoded the instrument cluster. Any clues?
I tried 00032; 00022; 00030; 00020; 00011; 00012
Also there are different information available with regards to what each code does, does anyone have a list and the applicable TCU number?
What I'd like to do ideally is to render the shifting a little sportier.
It currently shows code 00000.

It won't take a recode with the engine running. That's not the problem, is it?
My TCM is a BS suffix if that matters.
IIRC:
00002 is stock
00012 is sport mode
00022 deletes auto 1-2 shift in Tip mode
00032 combines 00012 and 00022

No, the engine is not running, just the key turned to turn the instrument cluster on.
As I said my code shows 00000 not 00002. Could it be because I took the ECU out (at some point I had a GIAC tip chipped ECU) and now put it back?
Should I run the adaptation like it is done with the Engine ECU?
Lastly, when you say "00022 deletes auto 1-2 shift in Tip mode" you mean that 1st gear is held until limiter or manual change correct?
I'm asking because my experience is that 1st gear is indeed held with the current coding (I'm going to take a trip and re-check) but I remember that I once tried an S4 Tip and on that car the 1st was shifting to 2nd right away even in Tip mode.

I've only done the recode on the S4 Tip,
I understand it works on the A6 also. I don't know about the A4 or any others. My TCM has the GIAC Tip chip and takes the codes successfully. The "automatic 1-2 shift in Tip mode" delete allows you to hold 1st gear until redline, or until you let up on the accelerator, at which time it auto shifts to 2nd. I don't believe the Tip automatic 1-2 shift behavior is programmed into the A4, if that's what you've got. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I notice that the recode requests........
.......another input code in the lower box below the tip recode area. Is it necessary to have this code to recode the TCU? Or is my TCU not accepting the recode due to the fact that I alreay have the GIAC upgrade?
As of yet I have had no success getting my car to accept the recode..........feedback........
