What is this fault code a result of...other than the obvious.

What is this fault code a result of...other than the obvious.
I have a 91 V8Q and I am having stalling problems.
When i connect the VAG/COM to check the error codes i get this code:
Lambda (oxygen) sensor intermittent 8:10
other than the Oxygen sensor, what is this code a result of?
Also while veiwing the Measuring blocks, my load is low (around 23) and my O2 sensor reading begins to peak out at around 166.
