WOT Indicator and wrong factory coding.
I just recoded the Instrument cluster to turn off the low level windshield fluid and I found out that my original code was for a NON turbo engine (07242) According to Ross-tech page it should have been (07244). I went ahead and recoded as 03244; the low fluid light is gone and I don't see any problems. Maybe it also fixed the lack of WOT indicator..I'll know tomorrow as I'm too tired to go out now.
Uwe could you confirm that the indication on your web page is correct as follows:
Look at the fifth digit in the coding (Distance impulse multiplier):
0 - TDI Engine (non-USA models)
2 - Non-turbo Gasoline engine
4 - Turbocharged engine

In my manual for that last digit of the coding, it only lists 0 for TDI engines, and 2 for gas engines, 4 and 6 cylinders.
On the newer cars (1999.5 up), there is a 4 setting for Turbo engine, but not for the pre 1999.5 cars. I would leave the last digit as a 2.

1999.5 Mix
My car is 1999.5 but as you know it looks like only some parts are from 1999.5 while others (like the instrument cluster) appear to be from prior to 1999.5.
So you say leave it as 2...ok I'll try a few days with the 4 and then I'll switch back to 2.
